This week's fishing update brings a mix of weather challenges, fish on the move in closer with promising catches, with Gurnard taking the spotlight.

The weather this week has been a bit unpredictable, ranging from perfectly calm to rather challenging.

As anticipated, the fish have moved slightly closer, primarily between 50-55 metres from Gannet Island to Albatross Point.

Once you locate them, you're generally in for a good session. However, the bite isn't consistent every day; some days see a rapid catch limit reached, while others offer a steady bite throughout.

We've seen some impressive fish being caught. Gurnard, in particular, are abundant right now, both in size and number.

Other catches, like spiny dogs, are present but not in significant numbers.

My bait recommendations would be bonito and couta. Looking ahead, the weather seems to be less than ideal. Please exercise caution while out fishing.

Cheers, Rob.
